Top Features of In Motion Hosting
Having worked with several hosting service providers in the past, I think I have a good grasp of what features matter the most to me. What you need for your personal or business website could be very different from mine. Still, you might want to read about my favorite features to help you make an informed decision.
Plenty of Account Options
Over time, my websites have picked up a lot of traffic. At first, we barely got any hits at all. Eventually, though, we got better at using blogs and social media to attract readers.
I bring this up to illustrate how your website hosting needs can change over time.
As those needs change, In Motion Hosting can keep up by offering you a wide range of account options.
I go into a bit more detail about the different service and subscription plans below in the Prices category. If you want to see the specifics of each account option, read about them there.
Web Design Services
I’ve been working in business develop for over two decades. When it comes to discovering new markets and growing businesses to meet consumer needs, I’m pretty good. When it comes to designing a website, though, I’m pretty useless. It just isn’t one of those things that can do well.
In Motion Hosting offers website design services so people like me can still build websites without learning a lot of new skills (or, even worse, just making terrible websites).
Before you hire In Motion Hosting to design your site, you get a free one-hour consultation. During that time, you can talk about what you would like your site to do, what your goals are, and how much the design will cost.
After the designers at In Motion Hosting have had some time, they will give you a proposed design that you can purchase. It is important to know that you do not have to purchase the design. I have always been impressed with their work, but you are under no obligation to give them money at this point.
If you decide to use In Motion Hosting’s website design services, though, you get one free year of hosting.
Unless you have a background in design or you would rather work with a design you already know, In Motion Hosting is a good option for getting professional sites at affordable prices.
Website Tools
Although I’m not a good site designer, I know how to manage basic websites that let people read content and buy items for sale. Managing a website is one of those things that just comes naturally to me.
You don’t have to have that talent, though, to use In Motion Hosting successfully.
The company offers plenty of website tools that will make it easy for you to manage your site well.
The tools that I use most include:
- B2evolution, a CMS tool for photos and files
- PrestaShop, an ecommerce tool with plenty of dynamic features
- CPanel, a popular account management tool that you may already know about
There are also plenty of other tools for e-commerce performance, content management, site design, and account management. There is even a tool that will let you add educational materials to your site, which I imagine is a good option for teachers and professors.
In Motion Hosting Prices
Since In Motion Hosting offers such a wide range of services, it also has a wide range of plans and prices. I’ll try to keep it as simple as I can by dividing the service plans into different sections.
I hope this doesn’t get confusing! There really are a lot of plans to go through, so I won’t offer more information than I think is necessary.
Let this guide you to an affordable plan that matches your needs.
Shared Business Hosting Plans
All shared business hosting plans come with one free domain name. You also get access to BoldGrid, a popular website builder used to create sites in WordPress.
VPS Hosting Plans
As mentioned in the section above, I prefer VPS hosting plans because they are affordable and give you plenty of flexibility. In Motion Hosting offers three VPS hosting plans.
Dedicated Server Plans
Dedicated servers are a little too rich for my blood, but you might want them if you have a popular website that gets a lot of traffic. There are some definite advantages to using a dedicated server over a virtual private server, but they just aren’t worth the expense for me. Your situation may be entirely different.
Reseller Hosting Plans
If you are interested in getting into the hosting business, you can use In Motion Hosting’s reseller hosting plans. It comes with several tools that should make your job easier, including Free SSDs, free cPanel access, and free WHMCS.
All plans come with one free dedicated IP.
Criticisms of In Motion Hosting
Unless you’re fairly geeky, I doubt that this criticism will mean much to you. Since it is the one thing that has ever bothered me about In Motion Hosting, though, I feel like I should mention it.
They don’t use any Windows servers.
If you are dead set on using Windows, then In Motion Hosting probably isn’t the right hosting option for you.
Customer Support for In Motion Hosting
In Motion Hosting has an impressive number of customer support tools that should make it relatively easy for you to learn about the company’s services and features.
When I run into a vexing problem, I can usually find an answer in one of the website tutorials. These tutorials offer basic and advanced lessons on keeping your site attractive, organized, and functional.
If you can’t find a solution to your problem in one of the tutorials, then you can always turn to the In Motion Hosting community for help. Someone has probably already asked about whatever problem you’re having, so you can search the forum to find the answer that helped that person. If you can’t find the right answer, you can always post a new question. I find that someone usually has a fast answer.
Of course, if you cannot find the answers you need through one of these resources, then you can reach out to the experts at In Motion Hosting. The company offers phone support 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can also choose to send an email, especially if you don’t have time to wait on hold while someone searches for an answer to your question.
