I love flash sales. Every now and then, CN Direct will advertise a few items that are on sale at ridiculously low prices. The sales don’t last very long, so you have to buy quickly.

I know that this is an attempt to get people to check the website frequently. It’s a smart marketing strategy. I also don’t mind that CN Direct does this. I visit the site at least once a week to see what it has on sale. The only times I’ve been disappointed is when I learn that I didn’t take advantage of a great deal.

We’re literally talking about items for sale at 80 to 90% off. Where else can you find that kind of deal?

A Diverse Catalog

CN Direct has a huge catalog with a diverse range of items. I found the site because I wanted to buy discounted clothes. I was surprised to see that CN Direct also had electronics, home supplies, and even baby toys.

I wish I had known about this site years ago! Just thinking about all the money I’ve wasted at retail stores makes me feel a little sick. This is another marketing strategy that I’m happy to take advantage of. It’s like becoming a member of a shopping club. Yes, you’re helping the company sell products, but you’re also saving money for it.

In a way, you can think of the coupons as getting paid for helping CN Direct do its job.

Good Quality

A lot of companies offer low prices. Unfortunately, they can charge those low prices because they don’t care about the quality of their products. Personally, I’m not so interested in saving money that it’s worth purchasing low-quality items. To me, that’s just a waste of money, no matter how cheap it is.

CN Direct doesn’t have that problem. Everything that I have bought from them meets my expectations. To tell the truth, there are plenty of stores that charge higher prices for clothes, electronics, and home supplies that are not nearly as nice as the stuff I buy from CN Direct.

The only thing I would caution (and I’m not even sure that this falls under quality) is that some of the sizes don’t fit what I would expect. I think that’s probably because other countries use different measurements. I usually wear size 34 pants. I quickly learned that I needed to order a size up when I bought pants from CN Direct. That’s not a big deal, though, since a lot of companies define their sizes differently. You can even go to the mall and find stores that sell the same “sizes” that are really quite different from each other.

CN Direct has some of the best prices I’ve seen. Everything has been discounted, so it’s not surprising to find ridiculously low prices.

More than anything, it’s the low prices that keep me coming back to CN Direct.

Criticism of CN Direct

I obviously like buying from CN Direct. But I don’t want to make it sound like it doesn’t have its problems. Every company has something that it could improve on.

For CN Direct, that problem is delivery times. Since a lot of the items ship from China, you never know how long it will take to reach you. I live in the United States, and it usually takes about ten days for deliveries to reach me. That’s the average. Some of my orders have shown up within five days. Others have taken 12 or 13 days.

For me, the price savings makes up for these delays. I’m happy to wait an extra few days if it means saving 50% or more on my purchase.

There are some occasions, though, when I have chosen to spend more money at other stores instead of saving money at CN Direct. For instance, I once needed to buy a new shirt for a wedding I was attending. I had waited until the last minute, so I knew that I couldn’t take advantage of CN Direct’s low prices. I had to suck it up and go spend more money at a local retail store.

As long as you aren’t under some kind of time constraint like I was, I can’t see many reasons to avoid buying from CN Direct. Yes, it will probably take a few extra days for you to get your order. At the same time, you can save a lot of money. The savings are attractive enough that I’m willing to overlook the delivery times.

Besides, I suspect that customs is the real problem behind these delays.

CN Direct Customer Support

I find that email is the easiest way to contact CN Direct’s customer support reps. Since the company is based in China, it’s difficult to know when the customer service center is open. I’m also not sure what level of fluency the representatives have in languages other than Chinese.

The fact of the matter is that I would prefer sending an email anyway. Who wants to wait on hold?

In my experience, email works pretty well. I’ve contacted customer service twice. Both of the experiences were very easy. I had received clothes that didn’t fit me the way I wanted. I guess that’s one of the hazards of buying from a company based on the other side of the world. Sometimes it’s a little difficult to know exactly how the sizes translate.

Regardless, I sent emails both times and got responses within 24 hours, which is on par with most of the U.S.-based companies I’ve bought from.

Customer service gave me instructions on how to return the items that didn’t fit me well. They refunded my purchase and the money was back in my account within a couple days. I still had to pay for shipping, but I think that’s just the way it goes when buy from a company that does everything within its power to keep prices low.

If you want to save money without sacrificing quality (who doesn’t?) , then I would recommend shopping with CN Direct. The only thing I would caution is that the deliveries can take a little more time than domestic companies.

I wouldn’t buy something that you need immediately. Other than that, it is a great company that offers exactly what I need.
